Pyramus and Thisbe
Condition before treatment:
•Dark discolouration of whites and highlights.
•Flaking and heavily raised paint within glazed and dark areas.
Treatment carried out:
•Transformation of discoloured lead white pigment (➞ lead sulphide) into lead sulphate (➞ white). See above.
•Consolidation of flaking paint layer. See below.
•Retouching of losses
